About RSS

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is an easy way to keep up with your favorite VA news and information. An RSS feed contains headlines, summaries and links to full articles on My HealtheVet.

How to Locate and use My HealtheVet feeds?

  1. Select the small RSS button rss feed button on the My HealtheVet website.
  2. You will then be taken to the RSS Feed page where you can select Subscribe to the MyHealtheVet RSS Feed link.

Once you have subscribed to RSS feeds, the RSS reader will continually check for the latest articles.

Where Do I Get an RSS Reader?

A wide range of RSS readers can be easily downloaded from the web. Some readers are web based, while others require you to download a small software program onto your desktop. Most are free to use. (Several readers require Microsoft's .NET framework on your computer. They may be slightly harder to install if you do not have .NET.)

Google and Yahoo! both offer a list of RSS readers. A few sample readers are offered below:

For all Operating Systems, browser-based: Bloglines

For Windows: Amphetadesk

For Windows .NET: RSS Reader

For Mac OS X: NetNewsWire
