Have a Premium Account?

You can use a Sign-In Partner (My HealtheVet Premium, DS Logon Premium or ID.me) to sign in to My HealtheVet. Sign-In Partners let you use one User ID and Password to access My HealtheVet and other VA websites. You do not have to keep track of multiple User IDs and Passwords that may only access one VA website. Learn more about Sign-In Partners.
You can sign in to My HealtheVet directly by selecting the Sign in with My HealtheVet button.

Have an Advanced Account?

Sign in with a Sign-In Partner (My HealtheVet Premium, DS Logon Premium or ID.me) by upgrading your My HealtheVet Advanced account to Premium. Sign-In Partners let you use one User ID and Password to access My HealtheVet and other VA websites. You do not have to keep track of multiple User IDs and Passwords that may only access one VA website. Learn more about Sign-In Partners.

Have a Basic Account?

Sign-In Partner access to My HealtheVet is available to users with a My HealtheVet Premium account. Learn more about Sign-In Partners. Sign in to My HealtheVet by selecting the Sign in with My HealtheVet button.

My HealtheVet's Account Types

Currently, My HealtheVet offers three account types: Basic, Advanced, and Premium. Your account type determines which features on My HealtheVet you have access to. With a Premium account, you have full access to My HealtheVet Premium features. You can access the VA Pharmacy feature and your VA health records, connect with your provider and other VA staff, and log in to other VA online tools and services.

Note: The Advanced account type will no longer be offered after September 1, 2021. If an Advanced user does not upgrade before September, the account will become a Basic account. Users who are VA patients or CHAMPVA Beneficiaries will not be able to use the online Pharmacy feature until they upgrade their Advanced account to Premium.

Overview of My HealtheVet account types

Basic account – With a Basic account, you can access medical libraries and enter personal data into features to track your health measures. Your access is limited to these features. You cannot view available information in your VA and/or DoD records.

Advanced account – When you register and your profile information (full name, Social Security number, date of birth [DOB] and gender) is connected to your VA and/or DoD records, your Basic account is automatically upgraded to the Advanced level. Advanced account users registered as VA patients or CHAMPVA Beneficiaries can also request and track VA prescription refills. (The Advanced account type will no longer be offered after September 1, 2021.)

Premium account – With a Premium account, you have full access to My HealtheVet Premium features. You can:

  • View your VA electronic health records

  • Send secure messages to your VA health care team

  • Manage your VA appointments

  • Download personal health summaries of your medical information

How to check your My HealtheVet account type. Look for your account type on the welcome banner. If you have a Basic account, there will be a  after your name. If you have an Advanced account, there will be an  after your name. If you have a Premium account, there will be a  next to your name.
